Simple Automation task script

I want to write a simple automated task script to Script to automate adding, deleting, updating users

Script to back up files

Script to sync with atomic clock

Script to change user's passwords

Or any other fun suggestions you may have.

I will have to describe each command in detail and I am very new at this. Can anyone give me a suggestion of which one is easiest and some tips on getting started?

I smell a homework assignment. You'll learn more if you work it out yourself.

Script writing

As I stated at the end of my post; I am only asking for "tips" on getting started. I am not asking anyone to complete the assignment for me. Thanks
