Sil 3512A having problems mounting dual hard disks in Ubuntu
So I recently updated some new hardware.
When I try to boot with only the Master disk, it boots up Ubuntu and tells me there is an error finding the other disk (because its unplugged) I say skip and it boots up fine. When I plug both hard disks in (both are SATA) it gives me this: Quote:

Which version of Ubuntu are you using? and did you look at the BIOS about boot order and such?
By the way to post outputs you don't use quote but code BBCodes Regards |
Will it get past that if you plug in only your non boot disk?(to the no os screen or something like that)

Change the SATA plugs on the controller
Greetings,
The SATA controller is likely trying to boot from the secondary drive. Some controllers have an order they follow for checking the drives and if the boot drive is not checked first that can cause problems. Thanks for posting. Be real, be sober. Edit: Might be easier to swap plugs on the drive-save difference. Edit: Probably can get into the bios on the controller too. Might be some other interesting stuff in there. |
