sidebar for linux like vista


is it possible to have sidebar in fedora core 8 showing the time and calender as it is vista.

I'm not sure which GUI you're using. Try the '-look' websites. http://kde-look.org and http://gnome-look.org . I'm not sure what the equivalent of Gnome is, but in KDE there is SuperKaramba and WAY more widgets you can have on your Desktop than Vista has. In addition, the KDE developers are working on a method to allow the loading of Mac OS X Dashboard widgets.

The topic you are looking for is panel. Right click on a panel (little bar on top and bottom of screen), hit new panel. You can drag that panel to the side. On this new panel hit add to panel. You can add clock. If you then double click on the date/time a calender will pop up. Sorry I gave up windows a couple of years ago and I do not know what vista looks like.
