Shutting Down Printer

Hello,

I am trying to get my USB printer working in VMware. When I tell VMware to connect the printer to my virtual comp so I can install and use it, it tells me that the printer cannot be disconnected from the host computer because it is being used by 'usblp'. My question is, how do I disconnect the printer from Linux so I can use it in VMware. Thx 4 any help.

Obviously you'd first want to stop the printer
daemon on your linux-box ... how that is done
properly depends on your distro.
Then you do 'su -c "modprobe -r usblp"'.

Cheers,
Tink

Well, I got it working. I used the CUPS WWW admin tool (sent browser to http://localhost:631) to stop the printer and then did 'modprobe -r usblp' as you said. thx for the help!
