shut down problem

Hi,
I just installed RH Linux WS3. When I shut down the computer, the system will do some checking but stop at "POWER DOWN". Is that normal or I should change the setting to make the system shut down completely by itself so I don't have to press the power button to shut down the whole system.

Thanks

There is only one way that I know of to get a Linux system to turn
the power off when you shut it down. I hope someone else can come
and tell the another.

Enable APM in your kernel. Add
append = "apm=power-off"
to LiLO. When you want to turn your computer off, issue as root "poweroff"
and that will properly shut down the system and then turn off the power.

It just might work if you do that and add the append line to GrUB...
