show only iconified windows
I am running Red Hat 9 with the gnome desktop, and am deperately in need of directions to the location of the"show only iconified windows" setting. I cannot get to it by going to "properties" on the panel, and am so far stumped and rather frustrated. Any directions as to where this setting could be found would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

ufff, gnome.....
maybe that functionality you search does not even exist. Gnome is very beautiful but not so powerful. If you are a "computer power user" (even a Windows one), I'd recommend KDE. |
Oh, it exists...that's the problem. I've had to reset it once, then after a reboot, the problems back, and I can't find where I changed the setting last time. KDE seems to run really sluggishly on my machine (800mhz PIII, 756mb RAM)...any suggestions on how to fix that?

oh, man, PIII800 & 756MB RAM and KDE runs "sluggish" ????
Mine is PIII600 & 256 RAM and works faaaast ! (And with the new 2.6 kernel and XFree 4.3, my menus fly ! Maybe you tried KDE 3.0. The performance increase between KDE 3.0 & KDE 3.1 is really incredible. Can't help you out with the Gnome stuff. |
