vmlinux, vmlinuz, bzImage are the same thing with different names

Are they? Isn't vmlinux the uncompressed kernel, vmlinuz compressed (gzip) and bzImage the new style that doesn't have to fit in low mem (tho yep it's probably the same size as vmlinuz - zImage - big zImage - still gzip). To be honest I've never really taken that much notice since bzImage came along and I didn't realy have to worry about size any more (in a critical sence). Anyway, if that's the case my compressed 'not very configured kernel' was about 2 meg and the latest s about 1.6 meg and that's as small as I'll take it on this box as I'm keeping most of the fs stuff and chipset in the kernel...

Mine is 1.6 also that is a 2.6.8 and that is as good as I can do.
