Previously, I configured my server without NetworkManager. I located the server (a cheap desktop PC) in my garage, and my wife didn't want me to knock down the walls to get wire down there, and I was forced to use wifi. Painfully, I got it working perfectly using using wpa_supplicant, etc and partially following http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/WpaSupplicant
I've since rebuilt the server, and used NetworkManager as tentatively recommended by szboardstretcher
, and everything it works perfectly, however, I haven't yet moved it to the dungeon where I need wireless.
So, the question is how to proceed? Do I stick to my original implementation and get rid of NetworkServices? Or do I keep in in place and go with something like http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/NetworkManager
? Note that the service "NetworkManager" doesn't seem to be available on my server (service "NetworkManager start" returns an error saying the service is not available), however, /etc/resolv.conf includes the text "# Generated by NetworkManager" which is confusing.
