Either lilo or grub will load linux just fine. I would set the timeout to zero if you don't multi-boot.

If you have LINUX setup to boot into GUI, you may want to add a delay so if you want to add any options like what runlevel. I have my delay set at 15 seconds although I only have Mandrake LINUX on my computer.

Its a user preference.

You need a bootloader - it choosed the right kernel to load. Without a bootloader (not important: lilo, grub, any other) Linux simply won't boot.

Ahaaa! thank you :)

ok im booting now from cd then choose the kernel in /hda2, how i can make it booting from /hda2 directly?

You need to instal lilo or grub, create correct configuration file (there are distros that have configuration programs making it easier) - configure it to install into the MBR (/dev/hda), also add options for other systems. Then you need to run lilo/grub to write the changes to disk.

its now booting from /hda2, i installed LILO "MBR" from vasm :)

everything works fine now.
