Shell script to send email after authenticaton
 

Dear All,

I am not an expert with Linux so I am seeking your help. I want to send some email from Linux through Microsoft Exchange server 2013 which requires authentication. This exchange server doesn't allow sending anonymous email. Previously I am sending email using "mail -s" command. Can you guys please help me to achieve this. Any heko would greatly be appreciated. By the way I am using Oracle Linux 6.6.

You've been using Linux for five years now.
Set up a mailrc file for whatever server/authentication you're using. And since you're controlling the Exchange server, you should also be able to configure it to allow emails from one specific address without authentication.

Also, since you're using Oracle Linux, have you contacted Oracle support??? You are PAYING for Oracle Linux, right?

Yes you are right but I am mot using it as System Administrator. I am an application administrator and do some work on Linux as per my interest.

Yes I am paying for it.

Ok...so since you say you're not the administrator, how do you plan on making changes to the system to resolve your issue?

You're welcome...but please read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. You could have (and should have), easily looked this up yourself.

I am actually learning to improve my skill set and I first implement the same on my laptop and then suggest system administrator to have a look and implement the same.

System administrator is in touch with Oracle as well.

...which takes us back to your first post, where you say you're not an administrator, just an application administrator. So if this is your system, none of that matters, since YOU ARE the administrator of your own system. And if you're an application administrator, you need to just tell your systems administrator what you want to do, and let them do their job. Would you like if they made suggestions to you about how to do YOUR job?
....and since you just said that YOU are the administrator of your box, wouldn't that mean that YOU are in contact with Oracle??? What did they say?

And did you read about mailx???
