Sharing Hard Drives

I am getting ready to build a new computer system. I am going to keep Windows and Linux on seperate Hard Drives. I was wandering if it is possible to have a third Hard Drive that both systems can access so I can store My Music and DVD collection and such and access the drive and content no matter if I am in Windows or Linux?

For you third hard drive, you will need to partiton that hard drive into two different hard drives. Then make one a FAT32 or NTFS, and the other a Linux file system.

Then mount one of the partitions when you are in Linux to the third hard drive.

Since most linux versions can read or mount NTFS partitions on installation or by installing ntsf-3g on linux on the few that don't. You can just format the third drive with NTSF, this way both OS's will be able to access the data on it.
I have almost the same setup sharing both ntfs and linux format between machines

Around three of years back I did the same thing but formatted the drive from linux but as windows partition so that windows and linux both could see it. And then mounted it in linux and used as if it was local to both windows and linux.

Havent used windows though since then.
