Sharing directories between XP and Mandy 9.1

Dear all,

I have XP and mandy 9.1 installed on my dell computer. (one HD 39 GB split into 2)

I would like to have a shared directory/space between the two operating systems for placing jpeg/docs/movies.

Kindly help with the instructions to make this possible.

I look forward to your help.

best regards,

Anand K.

First of all can you see your other partition from Linux, I guess Mand. 9.1 does that automatically. So you are already set to create such a directory in that partition. I didn't understand what the problem is here !
But be careful, writing to NTFS from Linux is a dangerous thing. You may damage your data. It is suggested to use FAT partition for such a job.

Many thanks for your reply.

The reason for the query was mainly to know the pros and cons on doing such a thing. Actually it is my office PC and I prefer not to have any unexpected surprises.

Your warning on NTFS is useful.

I will make a fat (or Fat32) partition under linux.

Best regards,

Anand K.
