Shares and groups

I have created a share [MRSDevfldr], I have given [root] ownership and the new group [mrs] ownership. I have denied others permissions. I only want root and the users that are members of the mrs group to be able to access this share.

drwxrwx--- 6 root mrs 4096 May 15 11:32 MRSDevfldr

I have added the share information to my smb.conf file and gave it the following parameters
[MRSDevfldr]
path=/share/MRSDevfldr
valid users = +mrs,+acct,+it
write list = +mrs,+acct,+it
force group = +mrs,+acct,+it
read only = No
create mask = 0775
directory mask = 0775

I have created a group that will own the share, I have added myself as a member of the new group [mrs]
mrs:x:1182:nkeever

When I give the new group [mrs] ownership of the share I get network is not accessible. I can change the ownership of the share to another group and I have access.

please help
