shared libraries missing?

Installed RH 9.0, loading only editors rpm for security DNS build.
After install, I loaded various rpms off CD and deleted files
and directories not needed (?). When I try to use Emacs to
edit, I get "emacs:error while loading shared libraries: libXaw3d.so.7:
cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory. Help ,Thanks.

if i remember correctly, that shared library is an X11 library. i don't use emacs, so i don't know if as of this moment it's an X only program or not.
