setup boot for linux on a G3

ok, maybe this is a always returning question,
but i'll give it a shot

now, i've already did some different linux installations on a "regular" computer,
now, i've got myself an imac G3, ant trying to put, linux on it
so, i've installed opensuse, but when i start the mac, all i've got is a logo of a folder with a questionmark, alternating with the mac faces. so,
it just won't boot, but, when i startup with disk 1 of the opensuse install disks, i start the setup, where i can "boot installed system" without any problem. so the system is ok, only the firmware/bios can't find the bootloader - startup disk?
there is no need for dual boot, just single boot for linux
probably a problem with the partitioning, i've already read this, but it's still a little blurry too me?

http://en.opensuse.org/PPC_Partitioning

could someone explain this to me please?

Hi,
I'm not sure but I think you also need MacOS on it so you can specify the startup disk.
Maybe try and ask in a Mac Forum.

Did you create a Mac partition and install Yaboot?
Take a look at http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1444877
It's for Debian but it is really pretty generic.
