When you post again to your own message, it looks to us as if someone is helping you.

Telling us what device you have may help.

Wifi has a number of issues.
Like all devices, it has to have support either in kernel or you add to the distro. If the device is common, it may already be in so check to see. Maybe lspci or lsusb.

lspci gave me "Atheros Communications Inc. AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter"

I know the Linux General wants people to help themselves, but I am having a very hard time with this computer...

Debian isn't the most newbie friendly distro. Pretty good but you may have to suffer a steep learning curve in linux no matter the distro.
