Setting up VNC in RHEL 6 64bit

I am new to linux.

I am trying to get vnc setup on my workstation.

I will paste some of the steps I have taken.

I downloaded the tigervnc and tigervnc-server through yum.

I setup the service file as so

VNCSERVERS="1:Phil"
VNCSERVERARGS[1]="-geometry 800x600"

Then when I go to start my server i get a FAILED message:

[root@pkroetschDT sysconfig]# /sbin/service vncserver start
Starting VNC server: no displays configured [FAILED]

[root@pkroetschDT sysconfig]# /sbin/service vncserver start
Starting VNC server: 1:Phil [FAILED]

any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
