Setting up sendmail

I have installed Mandrake 8.1 and would like to use sendmail as an email server for 2 domains. How do I go about this?

Any thoughts as to where I can download sendmail, what version, how to install (maybe a website that explains this), and will it work with Outlook express (POP3 accounts) for windows users?

I would also like to have this email server host the domains for both email accounts.

Thanks!

The "where to get" and "how to" information is found here.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...=Google+Search

I suggest you pick up the O'reilly book "Sendmail". Sendmail can be a bear to set up sometimes, depending on the complexity of your needs.

you directly go to sendmail site at http://www.sendmail.org
over there you see the newest version of sendmail, download it and install it.
Also you can get the information about sendmail in google.
or maybe you can search my post regarding sendmail.

i hope your familiar with the file system
but any way on the /etc/mail/ partition you should see a file called
localhostnames in this file you should add the domains which you would like to host example me.anngel.com
this will tell sendmail to accept mails for x domains you can add as many as you like.

How do I set up sendmail so that when I went to mail out, it doesn't show "root" and "localhost.localdomain" in the email? I'm really only using sendmail to send out, I'm not concerned with receiving.

in sendmail.cf file, found the line Cwlocalhost, change it to Cwyourdomain.com, i think you should add your own user so when you mail out you can used your user name.

I tried that, but it didn't help. Turns out I just needed to add an entry in my /etc/hosts file. Here's the thread with the solution:

thanks for the help!
