Setting up Kmail

I am trying to set up Kmail for mandrake 9.1. It seems to be set up okay, apart from the fact that it tells me that it has sent mail and has not or when I send mail to it, it does not arrive. This is a setup for a home box not a lan. Thank you for any help.

The only time I've had prob's with kmail, has been when I've incorrectly typed in the config for one of the mail addresses, usually a typo like smpt instead of smtp

If you have dual boot, you could try double checking stuff like that with windows, just to make sure that you've got the incoming server address correct.

Because I'm thinking along the lines of, that if you can get net access, it could possibly be a "setting's" problem.

Maybe this help's? maybe not (but it's the only thing that I can think of)

I have never actually set up microsoft outlook express, so comparing the two to get kmail to work would not help I don't think. I have a yahoo email, could that be the problem?

I wouldn't have thought so. I've got mine set up so it check's 2 different pop accounts and a webmail account - I'd have thought that your yahoo mail would be classed as a webmail account.

I'm presuming that your ISP account includes a mail service, that's where you'd get the addresses for the mail account (something like pop.freeserve.com to receive and smtp.freeserve.com to send) or you may find something at yahoo's help page about setting up outlook express to check webmail services - that's what I did, but I just applied the instructions to the various input boxes in kmail.
