Setting up IPP printer in CUPS Linux RedHat 4.0

Hello and good afternoon,

I would like to know how you go about setting an IPP printer in CUPS on RedHat 4.0?? I have no trouble setting up network printer with static IP's, but never an IPP printer.

Any help would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,

J

Just use the web interface and choose Internet Printing Protocol under Device.
The web interface is at localhost:631

Thanks, but not that simple. What do I use for the hostname and the paths??

Hi,

This might be helpfull: IPP based print server.

Kind regards,

AFAIK the hostname and path are configured on the printserver (a network printer has a built-in printserver)

The default values depend on printer make and model
