Setting up Internet provider

I have a Sagem Fast 800 E2T and have Mandrake/Mandriva 10.1 Official I have managed to set up modem using tiscali (UK) and put in my VPI/0 and my VCI/38 and where it tell's you to put your're name and password has been done is there anything been left out, I'm noy sure and I'm very new to linux. Can someone tell me where i'm going wrong and help me to correct. Thank you.

I was under the impression that usernames and passwords for ISP's are stored on the modem itself, not the computer, so you should be all set.

Sorry for the delay in my response:

To get into the modem just connect your computer to it, without routers or switches and point a browser at http://192.168.0.1

Thats what it USUALLY is. It may be different for your modem. If that doesn't work maybe try http://192.168.1.1 or contact the modem manufacturer or your ISP to get the info.

I managed to connect to the internet without changing the VCI / VPI keeping the Tiscali setup which has allowed me to connect to the Internet, so I would like to Thank you for your patient.
