Setting up display resolution on HP zv 5000 laptop

Hey Guys,

I know this type of question has been asked before, but I am having some serious difficulties setting up my laptop to display any resolution higher than 1024x768, 24bit, I know that in windows xp, I have the option to go to 1680x1050, 32bit, and this is what I am trying to achieve.

I am running SUSE 9.3 on an HP pavilion zv5000 widescreen, with an AMD 64 processor.

Whenever I try and configure a different resolution in Sax2, it always defaults back to 1024x768.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks guys
