Setting up a RAID1 config (Disk Mirroring)

Hi there,

I'm after some ideas on setting up my server.

I have 2 IDE 80gig harddrives (each as master on there own channels) and want to setup RAID1.

What I want to have happen, is that if one drive fails I can still run (including booting) of the other drive. The howtos that I've seen on this, don't really say how to do this. The go into how setting up a RAID part, but doesn't go into the boot sections etc, only things like /home or /usr.

Sadly, under windows, I just go into the disk manager and say mirror and pick drive to mirror it to..

Thanks heaps.

PS I'm using Redhat 8.0

I too want to know more about RAID 1, I have a new GA-7VAXP and so for all the doco's I have read don't tell you about converting an existing single drive setup to "Linux on RAID" wiith RAID 1 / Linux native RAID.
