Setting up a Firewall

Hello to all,
I installed Fedora Core 2. I want to set up a firewall and need to install the iptables package to run some commands. I "googled" iptables for Fedora Core 2 and did not find any downloadable .rpms. Can someone please help me to locate a good iptables package for Fedora Core 2?
Thank you.

Use yum instead, I think Core 2 comes with it:

Code:
su
# give root password #
yum install iptables
or
Code:
sudo yum install iptables
if you've added yourself to sudoers. Are you sure it's not installed already, I could imagine it is? It's probably not in your path, but try
Code:
/sbin/iptables -L
instead, it should either print out some iptables rules (or "empty" firewall) or if it really is not installed, then error. I hope it is installed

Then just go to iptables.org and read some of the how-tos..and
Code:
man iptables
it's pretty easy to learn, it takes a day or something and you should be able to do most of the basic stuff you usually want from a firewall. Well, less than a day I think.

Thanks for the detailed reply bOuncer. iptables was already installed. I wasn't in the good directory.
