setting time and date

I feel stupid to even ask this question but for some reason my new installation of Suse 10.1 is showing the time as 9:16 and the date as Friday the 24. Nothing I do seems to change it. This is Saturday isn't it!!!

Have you tried using the date command to set the time and date?
What is your timezone set to and what time does your bios think it is?

To use the date open a terminal window and type date. For more information there is always man date.

There is one thing that could take care of it. See man page for hwclock. Also, check that your timezone is properly set.
