Question <resolved> Setting resolution, redhat 9,

I've been tryin to set the resolution on my redhat 9, its stayin on 800x600...
i set it higher using the display app and it says for the new settings to take place it has to restart,
after it restarts, it still stays at 800x600...
anyone have any ideas??

this
Code:
You need to log out and restart the X server for the changes to take effect.
Configuration was written to /etc/X11/XF86Config, original configuration saved as /etc/X11/XF86Config.backup.
is the msg i get...

its an unknown monitor,
intel i810 internal graphic card, 16 mg ram.

any suggestions?
