Setting *all* folders to Details view by default
.. How do I do it pls?
_____________________________________________________________

I appreciate an individual folder can be set to a details view via ctl-F2/F3 (or by clicking a details button) .. but this is both annoying & tedious to have to do - every time a new folder is opened - even if the setting is saved for the next occasion.

Other than the obvious special folders - like desktop, how can I set the *default* view, globally, to *always* be details - and not icons, please?

Many Thanks.

Setting the view options for files and directories will depend on which file manager you are using. Details please.

In Konqueror, which is my preferred file manager on all platforms, go to View-->Adjust View Properties, then select your desired "View Mode" and check "Apply to All Folders."

In Nautilus (I have version 3.12.x), click the stupid "Options" icon that looks like a gear, select Preferences-->View, and choose your desired settings.
