set permissions for DVD drive

Hi guys, probably a dumb question here but I'm running into problems burning stuff on my DVD drive due to incorrectly set permissions. (I'm running FC3) The permissions for /dev/hda (my dvd burner) is:
"brw--------- myuser disk"

Now, if I just do a chmod g+rw /dev/hda (adding read/write permissions to the group) then I can burn away just fine. However, anytime I reboot the box it resets the permissions back to the default I listed above.

So.... my question is: is there a way to "permanently" change the permissions for this drive, OR if not, how can I have the permissions get set correctly during a boot so I don't have to manually change them anytime I want to burn something? BTW, I've tried adding "chmod g+rw /dev/hda" to my /etc/rc.d/rc.local file but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Did you update your system after the install?

If not, here's a possible reason for your problem.
http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/udev/

If updating udev does not solve your problem you'll need to add those permissions to the /etc/udev/rules.d/xx-udev.rules file.
Here's how:

Hope this helps
