set bg=dark , problem in gvim

If i add set bg=dark in .vimrc in /home/user, there is no problem as i did dark color from konsole settings for yellow and cyan color. These color are very light.

But for gvim ,can't find any option to set these color as darker.
So can't see those characters with yellow or cyan color in gvim.

If it is set bg=light in .vimrc then there is no problem either in vim or gvim.

I suggest you read the docs.
You have to specify the colours and the item to which they are applied properly.

highlight Normal guibg=lightyellow

if you want to change the colour, then do something like

highlight Normal guibg=lightyellow80
