Can't. I mentioned this before in the earlier post
I think what he mean is that, did you try to telnet your windows machine on port 12489 from nagios?

Code:
telnet windows_host 12489
if not check your firewall settings:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875357

but anyway, this command should work even if your firewall is blocking ICMP echo reply:
Code:
./check_ftp -H hostname -p port -w warntime -c criticaltime

Okay. I got this:

Code:
Trying 172.20.130.71...
Connected to 172.20.130.71.
Escape character is '^]'.
Nothing came out after the third sentence.

Code:
./check_ftp -H hostname -p port -w warntime -c criticaltime
[/QUOTE]

Sorry, whats the exact command for the above? =X
I tried this :

Code:
/usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios/check_ftp -H 172.20.130.71 -p 21 -w 10 -c 20
My command is wrong because they gave me "bash: /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios/check_ftp: No such file or directory"

Good, this mean that's working.

Now, what does this command give you:
Code:
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nt -H 172.20.130.71 -p 12489 -v MEMUSE
for your firewall, make sure that the IP address of your nagios is allow to comunicate with your XP machine on ports that the services you want to check are running:
FTP: (default 21)
SMTP: (default 25)
When your firewall is setup, try this again:
Code:
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ftp -H 172.20.130.71 -p 21 -w 10 -c 20
PS: Don't forget to post the output of these commands as it is.

Angel

Hi Angel.

This is my output. Sorry for the late reply.

Code:
laytech@ubuntu:~$ /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nt -H 172.20.130.71 -p 12489 -v MEMUSE
NSClient - ERROR: Invalid password.
Code:
layleng@ubuntu:~$ /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ftp -H 172.20.130.71 -p 21 -w 10 -c 20
FTP OK - 0.004 second response time on port 21 [220 Microsoft FTP Service]|time=0.003874s;10.000000;20.000000;0.000000;10.000000
Hmm, right now my ftp/smtp services turned 'OK'. It just suddenly turned 'OK'. Sometimes it would become 'CRITICAL'. I don't know how come it is so.

So, my Windows XP is alright now. Now my Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition gave me "No route to host" for services like SMTP, SSH, FTP, HTTP. As for the ping, it gave me "CRITICAL - Host Unreachable (192.168.142.146)" in the nagios browser. And the host for windows 2003 is down. Last week it was still up.
