Seperating Home folder from Root Folder to a new partition.
 
my total filesystem capacity:39.9 GB(used 4.2GB,available:35.7 GB)
Currently,i have only single partition.
i wanna make again a new partition from the single existing partition where root(/) folder stored.

my aim is to seperate the home folder from the existing partition to the new partition.

please help me....

Hello,

Have you tried using gparted? You can resize your partition, and then just create a new partition with the newly freed space. Here is the site: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
I recommend downloading the ISO image, burn in to disc, and then reboot and boot from it. From there, you can resize your partition.

how about downloading it and copying to the usb disk!!! will it work?
