Sendmail - wrong mail sender domain display

Hello,

I have installed mail server (Sendmail - Cyrus-IMAP - Squirrelmail) on my Fedora system. Everything works fine, I can send and receive mails, IMAP connection works great, so does webmail interface and even SSL, but there is one little but quite annoying problem - I guess with Sendmail configuration.

My mailserver is running on myserver.com domain and whenever someone sends me mail from someone@somewhere.com I always see the sender's address ending with my domain - someone@myserver.com. Looks like domain name of sender of incoming mail is overwritten with my mail server domain.

This is really bothering because you don't know who sent you a mail and you are unable to reply to it.

I have solved all problems reading manual pages and forums so far, but now I was not able to find solution for this. I suppose this is caused by some kind of masquerading, but I can't find out, which parameter in which configuration file to edit - maybe sendmail.mc...?

Thanks for any kind of suggestions

Cool already solved!

This wasn't problem with Sendmail, but with DNS records for my domain.

It was necessary to define A record for machine on which mail server is running, defining only A and MX records for entire domain wasn't sufficient - little example of my DNS records settings (fictious data, just for demonstration):

mydomain.com A 200.201.202.203
mydomain.com MX mailserver.mydomain.com
mailserver.mydomain.com A 200.201.202.203

where mydomain.com is name my domain, mailserver is name of the machine running mail server and 200.201.202.203 is my IP.

This is setting suitable for small network, where mail and web servers are running on the same machine.
