Sendmail take hours to deliver

I'm running php-nuke on Fedora Core 2. Everytime a new user wants register at the portal, he or she never gets the confirmation email sends by php-nuke. Only once did it get to send which is my to my gmail account but it arrived 8 hours later.

Does the latest Fedora installation comes with sendmail properly configured? I did the steps as told by a Linux Journal article on configuring sendmail even added a "" in

Hope someone here could help me out.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
