sendmail question
The text below is similar to the end of every line in my maillog from when i try to send a test message with mutt. When it says that the stat is sent, i think that means it sent the message to the mail relay, but i'm concerned because it says "queued mail for delivery". does that mean all my emails are just queueing up and really never getting sent out?
stat=Sent (<20101008221931.GA19593@ServerName> Queued mail for delivery) |
That is normal, no need for concern unless your mail isn't being delivered. If you want to watch the mail process yourself try this: echo "this is a test" | /usr/sbin/sendmail -vv youremail@addr.com and you can watch how sendmail processes the mail the whole way through.
