Sendmail query

Hi All,

At my work place i used samba for file sharing & scheduled daily backup in crontab.
Once backup is completed it sends mail stating that backup completed for the day. sendmail service is also running on the server.
but from last 2-3 days I can see procmail is also running.

Please advice me about this.

Here is the list of processes running on my system.

Regards,
Manish

procmail is merely processing the mail.
in your case it looks like bounces, so i would examine the mailq/mailbox and contents of the bounced email

Well what is in the mailq??
Is it just trash you wish to throw out??

If none of it is needed you can just

cd /var/spool/mqueue; echo rm -rf *

do that first to see what the command will remove.

if you are satisfied with what it removes, remove the echo from the command.

same for clientmqueue
