sendmail delay with outgoing emails

server has been running fantastically until yesterday. The only problem is outgoing mail has a delay. It takes about almost a minute connect and send but does eventually send. When signing into Squirrel Mail, sending mail is just as quick as ever.

RedHat 9, OutlookExpress, Sendmail.

Do you have any kind of authorization for SMTP? If yes, what is it?
