Sending email link in Namoroka
I cannot send an email link in Namoroka.
I go to file-send link and nothing happens. I tried to find the problem by about:config in Namoroka. I just found /usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird. With my limited knowledge I do not know what else to look for. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks |
Hi daniell,
in order to send a link, you'll have to configure the default mailclient. This means the mailprogram to be opened when you chose "send link" in the browser. If you don't use mozilla thunderbird as your mailprogram, you should chose another. You don't have to use about:config, you may look at "Edit->Preferences->Applications" and configure the entry at "mailto". Markus |

I did as you instructed for mailto is says use thunderbird. I do not know why it does not work. |
Well, you'll have to configure at least one of your mailaccounts with Thunderbird. If Thunderbird is not yet configured, it will not work.

Did you ever use an Emailprogram like Outlook or similar?
Do you have an emailadress? (please do not post the adress here) If you have an emailadress, which provider do you use? and which protocol (imap or pop3 or exchange) do you use? If you have an emailadress you may post the part on the righthandside of the @ sign. Markus |

I think that it is Pop 3 |
Well, and how do you normally access your mailaccount? via webinterface in the browser?
You can open Thunderbird and configure it to access your mailaccount. There's a wizzard in Thunderbird which will help you. Markus |

Well, then I misunderstood the issue. I have firefox and thunderbird, and sending a link works for me. In general: when clicking on a "mailto" link on a website my thunderbird opens automatically.
At least here is a link with a similar issue, maybe that helps http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=22333 Markus |

which version are you using now?

If it worked before an upgrade, I think this is a distributionspecific issue, I'd recommend to check the Ubuntuforums.
Good luck Markus |
