Security Programs

Hello Linux Gurus, Newbies, etc.

I have to do a linux project on a security package. Now, I am not asking for any help with my homework as it is against the rules, but since I am new and there are hundreds of packages out there, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a package that would supply me with many features to write about. Please don't tell me to do a google search, since I have already done that, and that is the reason why I ask, because there are thousands of results to sift through. Considering that I'm still doing the entire project myself, I don't believe this post violates the rules.

Thanks much to any contributers,

The term "security package" is pretty vague -- that could apply to Kismet or to ipTables, or to all kinds of things.

But I think there's plenty of information to do a report on any of them
