Second Monitor Not In XConfig?
 

hey...im using dual 17 inchers with a ti4400 gforce. I installed the latest drivers, edited my xconfig, but my second monitor aint showin up. I tried disconnecting each monitor and starting up, they work peachy. I read thru the xinerama howto but there both the monitors are detected. Any help? thanks for your time ppl :)

name the second one monitor1 or something. try it.
also DUPLICATE any other monitor0 reference with monitor1

got it to work...thanks anyway. i couldnt find the nvidia dualhead doc. it jus involves adding 4 lines to the xfree. Simple really. Now jus to find out how to run both the monitors at 1152 with the proper horizontal sync. Any Ideas?

You will need to define a Screen section for each monitor. You have one screen section already. What you need to do is make the first mode on the Modes line be "1152x864" followed by the modes already their.

A Monitor section defines the monitor or LCD. A Device section defines a graphics adapter. The Screen section ties an adapter to a monitor and defines what modes, color depths, frequencies, etc the combination can use.

Finally, the ServerLayout section ties together the input devices witht the screens, and how the screens are placed relative to each other.

Not that difficult once you get the hang of it.
