seatools best alternative for linux


i use seatools on windows to test multiple types of hard drives
just cant get it running on centos 7

whats the best hard drive testing software for linux?

You should still be able to use the DOS bootable version

I'd fire up gparted and nuke whatever came on the device, to orbit.
Create a new ext4.

but that's just me.
Sharing with Windows? Use fat32, I guess.

Hi...

While I'm not sure about the best, the Gnome Disk Utilty is pretty good. I've used it more than once to check the health of both laptop and desktop hard drives. It might be available in the CentOS repositories or, if not, you can find it in Gnome's Git repository here. I'm not sure if it requires any dependencies, however.

Not sure any tool is better than what seagate or other OEM's offer.

Guess you could get the ultimate boot cd and use generic tools.
