Search function for FireFox browser?

It is too bad there is no search capability in the Mozilla browser. While reading large pdf files I am forced to copy their content into gedit and use its search tool.

Is there a way to change that? Thanks, - A.

I think pressing CTRL-F opens search dialog box in firefox or seamonkey.

There is also find menu option in edit menubox.

what's wrong with using evince or ocular ( gnome/ kde)
the built in pdf in ff has always caused me MAJOR problems

Ctrl+F works if it text information (not pictures)

But yes the newer versions of FF kind of suck. Including the new search bar

I am ashamed. You guys know so much and I so little!!! Ctrl+F really works. It is amazing how long I suffered and wasted so much time.

Thank you very much. A.

I just installed evince. I don't know how it works but there is no way to give it a url for input. There is no address window. I tried to copy a pdf file and paste it (ctrl+A + ctrl+V) to evince. No effect, it does not accept it: "File type plain text document (text/plain) is not supported"

I don't have evince but I would guess you could just open things by selecting file->open

When last time I used; Evince was a pdf reader only. It opened local file only.
