scrolling mouse

After installing my Slack 9.1 (it was the same and with 9.0) I added into my XF86Config file
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" (also tried and with "auto" - same result" )
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

and of course everything's fine.
But after leaving X, I can't control my mouse. It goes in the upper right corner and starts flashing.
I've done exactly the same with FreeBSD and RedHat, and I've never have that problem.
Perhaps the problem is with gpm.
Have you any idea what should I do?
Thanks in advance

If it's not in X, then I'd bet my bottom penny that it's GPM related

Outside of X, as root, type:
mouseconfig
And change your protocol to imps/2

Cool
