Script works in shell, but will not autostart

I have this extremely simple script called startmyth:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 10
export DISPLAY=:0.1
exec /usr/bin/mythfrontend &
when I execute it as ./startmyth, it works fine. But when added to Gnome's startup applications (System > Preferences > Startup Applications), Mythtv does not start! What gives?

Just making sure.... you did use the absolute path to the script not './startmyth' ?

The display :0.1 does not exist until you start a gnome-terminal session. Try
Code:
export DISPLAY=:0

I almost feel a permission deal but I don't have any reason as to why.
