I have no idea how to do this. And if I had, I still wouldn't tell you.

And there's a simple reason: Showing a way to test for the presence of this vulnerability would inevitably mean showing (or at least hinting) a way to exploit it. And I hope nobody would be careless enough to do that in public.

From a user's point of view: Have the appropriate security patch installed ASAP, and you should be okay. As a courtesy, MS even provides it for XP, though that was supposed to have reached its ultimate end of life a month ago.

Linuxquestions is a Linux user forum. Forums are about interacting with your fellow forum members. You asked about this already here and without ever responding. Instead you decided to basically post a duplicate thread. That is the wrong way to deal with this.

No you don't. You need to test machines for the update. See Microsoft Security Advisory 2963983: http://blogs.technet.com/b/srd/archi...3-ie-0day.aspx and https://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/...curity/2963983 .

Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate.
