Screen Saver Password Activates but Password not accepted
 

If I provoke the screensaver or let it timeout my password will not be accepted when I type it in to unlock the screen. Is says Checking and then comes back with Sorry. Urg! Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

The only setting I changed was the usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver lockTimeout from 0:00:00 to 15:00:00

The setting took but even if I change the setting to 1 minute as a normal user logged in or provoke the screensaver the password does not work. Is it the screensaver (swimming fish) I chose (crazy question I know)?:confused:

deep into the man page it refers to a file etc/pam.d/xscreensaver. This file asks that you ensure your PAM file, etc/pamd.d/system-auth refer to pam_stack.so. Do I need to tell my sytem-auth file to point to the pam_stack.so which is located in my /lib/security/$ISA/ directory?

Since you are running X, don't you have some nicer way to turn on the screen saver security than to hack around in the config files. For example, in Ubuntu, you'd just click preferences and screen saver. The dialog has an option to lock the desktop after a given amount of time.

Set your files back to default, use the desktop Screen Saver to change the option, then see which files it changed and how?
