Screen Saver In RedHat 8
I am running RedHat 8.0
Does anyone know if it is possible to run the KDE screensaver while running Gnome. I like Gnome, but I like the KDE screensaver better.
I'd like to turn off the Gnome screensaver, and replace it with the KDE screensaver.
Possible? And if so, what is the name of the KDE screensaver?
Thanks

KDE screensavers use their own mechanism instead of the more common xscreensaver program that's used by GNOME and other desktops (e, rox, openbox etc). They are not compatable.
Also, you'd need to find out the name of "the" KDE screensaver, I think it ships with more than one.

Thanks for the reply. Here's what I am trying to accomplish. I have a directory of photo, all 1024 x 768. When my screen saver activates, I'd like to have these pictures rotate, say ever 10-15 seconds. The KDE screensaver has a "slideshow" mode that does this. Since the KDE screensaver will not work, do you know of another way to accomplish this.
Thanks,
Marc
