Screen resolution problems with HP Compaq 6720s

Could anyone would be so kind to help me?

I'm having the aforementioned laptop HP Compaq 6720s.

After installing Slackware I'm having problem with the screen resolution,
I tried 'xorgsetup' 'xorgconfig' still I'm having two black lines both sides of the display.

I would be glad if Slackware would eventually would work on my laptop.

Backtrack uses Slack and I have never had a problem with that,- so Slack should work too.

A config would be very highly thanked.

Thanks for anyone in advance who can help to solve this problem.

I'm not familiar with slackware much, but you'll need to find and use the intel video drivers and possibly modify your xorg.conf file to use the native resolution of your monitor.

Search your repositories for "intel" and you should come across the right animal.

That chipset *might* be compatible with some Intel open linux drivers available here:
