Scrambled and Mising Characters on Ubuntu 10.04


Hi I'm running a dual screen (laptop + monitor) Ubuntu 10.04 box. Interesting issue just popped up - my fonts went all wonky. See the screen shots:

I restarted and now it's a little better but still some characters are missing:

And now as I type this more characters are vanishing and turning to weird glyphs. Any ideas?

I have not seen an error of that nature, but it looks like a video card issue. What kind of GPU does your laptop have, and what driver is being used to run it?
