The driver linked by spooon is several years out of date, and not Sane compatible, which means it's all but useless for a current system. Give it a try if you're desperate, but don't hold out too many expectations for it.
I also suffered an huge amount of frustration trying to get a Visioneer One Touch scanner working on Linux. It was a different model (4400), but also completely unsupported. I did a lot of research, and found a lot of false hope (including pages that claimed it was compatible with drivers for various other scanners), but in the end I discovered that the reason there wasn't a driver for it was because the scanner itself was a bit of a hardware hack, and was practically unsupportable. I can't tell you whether your model is the same, but you have to ask yourself why there isn't a driver for it.
In the end, I sold my 4400 scanner, and bought a new one that is supported. Okay, so it cost me a bit of money, but I was wasting so much time trying to get the old one working, and it just wasn't worth it.
