Scanner Divers install

Have just upgraded to Linux 17 and now my Scanner will not work!

Scanner is an Epson PERFECTION V330 PHOTO.

Need to install the correct drivers, I have tried myself but seem to get knowhere, I'm a rookie when it comes to computers.

Please can someone offer to help guide me through this as I am not now sure what to do, in easy to understand stages please.

Thanks.

there is no operating system called " Linux 17 "
now there is a Mint 17
or a dead and unsupported Fedora 17

I must admit, I read as mint 17

I didn't want to post since I have no answer

It has been a long time since I needed (wanted) to scan something

Back in those days I manual installed "sane", after tweaking it worked .. but that was LFS ( Linux From Scratch )

Sorry, I can't offer much advice .. no scanner ..

Anyway, since no longer on zero-reply

I would start here
http://www.sane-project.org/

BUT , things may have changed ..

Can anyone else with scanner experience fill in gaps?

Not knowing which distribution of Linux you actually have, the first thing I would suggest is to open a terminal and type: xsane, then hit the Enter key and see what happens. Make sure the printer/scanner is plugged in an turned on before doing this.

My mistake OP should read Linux Mint 17.

Checked that "sane" was installed and yes it was.

Then installed the following in the following order:

iscan-data_1.29.0-2_all.deb

iscan_2.29.3-1~usb0.1.ltdl7_i386.deb

esci-interpreter-perfection-v330_0.2.0-1_i386.deb

And Bingo all up and running.

Thanks all.
